Just as CQWW uses the ARRL country list for multiplier credit, so the IOTA 
contest uses the IOTA awards criteria.



So the contest does not apply any criteria of its own other than that an 
island is recognised by the IOTA awards program! Yes, the two activities 
both fall under the umbrella of the RSGB, but they are separately 
administered.  Your question is better addressed to the  IOTA manager 
G3KMA than to a contest forum.
