AH1A was canceled in 2001 because the Italian amateur who held the call
obtained it fraudulently. The address he used (on Canton Island, now
part of Kiribati) to get the call never existed. It only took the FCC 19
years to catch the error, and that probably wasn't without some
assistance from the amateur community.
