[CQ-Contest] WAEDC CW: only for Extra class USA / You have tobe kidding

Again, the IARU rules say that the 7000-7025 range is "contest preferred" and that the rest of the area (up to at least 7040). Narrow band modes are "permitted" in R1 between 7040 and 7050. CW is a narrow band mode. All modes are again permitted between 7050 and 7100.

Again, the key word is preferred - not mandatory. Clearly, the DARC and the WAE committee had the ability to "grant" 5 extra KHz to 7030 which is still patently inadequate given the popularity of the contest.

>From my reading of the rules, CW is fully allowed up to 7100 and CW contesting should be as well.

Common sense will prevail and we will widen our CW section on 40m by a couple of kHz (7030 being the new boundary) and thus, allowing everybody to participate in the CW part of this beautiful contest. Otherwise split operation would become necessary which would certainly foil the good intentions of the IARU R1.
