Hi Alex:

The US Federal Communication Commission sets the limits under the regulations
of the Amateur Radio Service.  See Part 97.305 - note (11) allows phone
operations only outside of Region 2 on 7.075-7.100.  The rest of us
can operate phone starting at 7.125...

This is NOT just a recommended band plan for FCC licensees.

The bandplan we use in the US - aka "SSB is 7.125 and up" - is it FCC
"demanded" or ARRL "recommended"?IARU plan for region 2 has 7.040 if i
remember correct. Who set it to 7.125?
