After receiving some off-line critisizm about this post, I realized I probably should have also mentioned that I did send this guy a card as well as a note with a few helpfull suggestions. Maybe he'll think good thoughts about contesters and enjoy his on the air activities more in the future. I merely wanted to illustrate that some of these guys make it tough to do the right thing.

Last Sunday on 20 meters I had a stateside guy that just had to call me during a European run. His suffix was IQT, I copied IQT....I called IQT and gave him a report and he never corrected the call. Then today I get a card from him....just a card, no return postage.....and apparently his call is IMW (count the dots and dashes) and he thanks me for the "CW DX Contest Contact". I wonder what he thinks DX is? How about a stamp? Sheesh....

OK On sending DX only but in many of the cases that are stated, IF you send DX Only... AT least half of those callers won't be able to read the 35 WPM that the CQ and DX only is being sent at. Most will be newbies who have to work at the call sign for 4 or 5 times just to get the call then the section. Work UM , Log um and then for the contest log just let the Contest committy deal with them.
