Industry News: Goodbye to Astatic

The Astatic brand name for microphones is going away. Newsline reports
that CAD Professional Microphones and Astatic Commercial Audio
Products are being brought together under a single new brand name, CAD
Audio. Astatic was a major player in the ham radio and CB microphone
markets in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Its best-known and most distinctive
mic was the lollipop-shaped D-104.
