some of the 
facts my be erroneous, but it's basically true, I think....
 
After selling kkn.net IP kernels to CISCO, Trey got involved with HC8N and
Cabrillo myths.
 
While ch=' ' read(ch); C-language trick used for random field spacing in
Cabrillo format.
 
My soapbox comment for a long time was:  It took a mathematician to produce
this standard :-)
