I'm happy for the 59 on phone because it generally stops operators from
saying "please copy" (which is not only pointless, but takes longer to say
than "five nine").

On CW, it does let us know the exchange is coming, but I could do without
it.  Anyway, most of the casual contesters send it even when it isn't
required.
