Don periodically collects "user preference" information in the form of
survey's of the active RTTY participants. The latest results for 2010 are on
the RTTY Contesting website, here:
http://www.rttycontesting.com/2010survey/2010febsurveyresults.html

The 'bias' of which program is favored by operators in the different
continents is revealed by the answers to Question 1. Worldwide, over 60% use
either N1MM or WriteLog. Almost 10% of the operators use MixW, 9% using
Win-Test, 7% using MMTTY standalone, and 11+% answered "Other".

When Don filters the responses of NA or EU only, the numbers shift
significantly. In NA, MixW is a QRP signal at 4.9% compared to 77.8% using
N1MM or WriteLog.

The EU responses squelch N1MM and WriteLog back to 40% while the other
'brands' gain significantly in popularity.

There's many more charts that slice and dice the responses, but overall the
trend seems the same, as was stated... there are regional preferences for
software (and other topics in the survey).
