I try to wait until Sunday, but don't wait too long. One local
station I needed to work for zone credit on 10m was missing-in-action
when I tried to find them. I finally had to work their 15m station
and let the operator know I was looking for them on 10m.

Also, there may be better times to find certain zones, depending on
the time of the day and propagation. Zone 3 is hard for me on 15m
from Colorado. During CQWW Phone, I found a loud VE7 calling CQ
Sunday afternoon out of the blue, but this weekend, I ended up working
a much weaker station from 7-land when he was the *first* and only one
I heard!

NEVER do it when the station you want to work has a high rate. I use
the three CQ rule -- wait for three unanswered CQs before calling.
