The popular Florida QSO Party is only a few days away. Two additional
mobile itineraries have been posted and added to the mix of county
activations. As of now, each of the 67 counties will be visited by at
least two mobile stations. You can download the tables of activity (and
the workbook) from here:

Here's a few stats that have been revealed...
There are 10 counties that will have less than 2 hours of mobile
activity during the entire weekend. They are: Broward, Collier, Dixie,
Flagler, Franklin, Gulf, Hamilton, Miami-Dade, Monroe, and St John's.
Five of these will only be active one of the two days.
Then there's the opposite end of the spectrum. Hardee will be visited by
9 mobiles and Polk will get 11 visits. These counties must have some
magical attraction because Hardee will be activated for nearly 16 hours
and Polk for more than 17 hours. But when looking deeper to determine
the source of this anomaly I found the K4P itinerary shows these two
counties listed both days, with no other activity.
If these 10-hour blocks of activity are removed from the analysis,
Hardee and Polk drop into a group of the "top 5 visited" counties with
more realistic durations. The Top-5 counties are Charlotte, Desoto,
Hardee, Lee, and Polk. All of them will be on the air for 5 to 6 hours
over the weekend.
Keep in mind this analysis is for mobile/rover stations only. Many base
stations will also participate in the FQP and will help fill in the
areas where mobile activity is "light"; Miami-Dade for example.
Revision 2.0.4 of the workbook and charts have been posted to the above
website.
