Mike, K9NW, points out that there IS a contest on the 2nd weekend of August, 
and gives a very good alternative plan.

I nominate the weekend of June 30/July 1, 2012.

I think the WAE CW would have some issue with the second weekend of August. 
:-)  Of course it's hard to say when any given DXpedition will be QRV.

Your best bet is some weekend where Saturday is in one month and Sunday is 
in the next, as most events try to avoid the split months.

I like your idea.  And I think the contesters would cope just fine.  But 
today's current crop of "DXers" would likely go ballistic!  I mean really, 
how are they supposed to work any DX if there isn't something to set of 
bells, whistles, alarms, to let them know something is on the radio??
