I remember back in the 50's, QST used to print a list of the gear the
Sweepstakes winners used.  It was really fun to look at all the stuff they
used.  Very few KW's and beams.  Mostly 100 watts and wire antennas
(stations like Mike uses now :-)

You can go to the ARRL website and look in the archives for SS results from
50's and 60's.  It's fun.  73

yes, one of the neat facts of the OCDX contest is that they put out a
listing of all the equipment you used in the contest. now it is all
transeivers, but some years ago it was really interesting to see what
setups got kluged together for the contest...............

when i stoped blathering about the rules and actually read them. i feel
the RDXC does a great job giving a participation award to those who can
work so many contacts.

i have no chance in hell to make that many contacts, but i can at least
try............
