[CQ-Contest] The importance of CHECKLOGS

Hi all,

Every year again we have to remove QSO's from a contestlog because the
callsign is not traceable.

We at UBA use several databases (like QRZ.COM) to check for calls, but
sometimes people are not in that or other databases.

We all know that some people mainly non-contesters just make a few
QSO's, or to work a new country, a new prefix or to give a friend a few
points.
What they don't realize, not being a contester, is that logchecking is
growing to such standards that QSO's like that face the possibility to
be removed from the log.

I think it is up to us to promote towards these amateurs to send in at
least a checklog.UBA is willing to go very far in this.
We are aware that these people are not familiar with contestprograms and
Cabrillo files.
Therefore we have our "Contestlog Service".People having trouble
compiling a cabrillo file can always male the contest manager with their
problem concerning their log and we will try to find an answer to it.

But I also think it is up to us to promote the sending of checklog in
our local clubs.
