[CQ-Contest] New CQ WW DX Rule Bans Post-Contest Log Changes

Agreed, Kelly. I'd consider a correction note scribbled in the midst of the
contest as perfectly within both the letter and spirit of the competition
(unless that note was "check my audio recording on that weak callsign at
2109Z" <grin>)

I would agree with Hans, but would add that the 'log' isn't just what you
type into the computer. I would argue that if you write out a note during
the contest correcting an entry, that note becomes part of your log no
differently than if you had, in the paper days, scribbled a correction
beside the log entry.

I don't see scribbling that note as being any different than cursor-arrow up
to the correctable entry, knowing that some programs are easier to edit on
the fly than others. It shows you DID copy it correctly during the contest.

Does anyone have any problem with editing *during* the contest? Let's say
you log K0SB and then try to work K0HB later in the contest and get a QSO
B4, and are able to determine that you goofed the first time around.

I don't think contests are typing competitions any more than contests were
penmanship competitions in the paper days.
