In decades (centuries?) past, the ARRL DXCC desk used to tell folks that
that
they prefered paper cards as confirmation for awards, but that they would
also go
check the DX station paper logs submitted for ARRL DX contests as
confirmation.

What you are suggesting, seems analogous.

But... as far as I can figure out, ARRL DXCC desk stopped accepting
appearance
of your call in the DX's contest log, many many decades ago.
