[CQ-Contest] To cut or not to cut?

If you want to send enn for the signal report great. Actually I could
care less what is sent there. Someday it will probably be e e e.

If you send cut numbers to me, you can probably count on a fill. I had
one report that was AANA. My brain went dead. Those are not numbers.
I asked for a fill. Got the same stuff. Asked again and then finally
the light bulb went on at the other end.

Maybe if those of us that are not serious waste a bunch of cut number
peoples time they will start to understand.

Cut numbers when the station you are trying to work is awful. I am
listening for dits or dahs sequentially. Not random code characters.

I did notice that about 1/2 the stations I worked slowed the number part
down by 3 to 5 wpm. I did the same and I think this helped a bunch. I
was really geared up for the guys going 40 plus and relieved when the
numbers came out a tad slower HI!

Regardless I am sure I mutilated my share of numbers. I never look
forward to log reports from the WPX HI!
