[CQ-Contest] Increasing contest participation

Jim, I could not agree more. You and I are old enough to remember when
ARRL DX Contest QSOs were automatically credited to your DXCC. Now that
CQ has made logs publicly available, what possible argument could there
be against this? If CQ wants a share of the financial return to ARRL
that results, surely some equitable arrangement can be negotiated. It's
high time.
As for reliability of data, there's a simple solution - only credit QSOs
that are confirmed by submitted logs from both parties. At that point,
nightmare scenarios about multiple people fabricating and submitting
logs with bogus QSOs become "imaginary horribles."

ARRL's requirements for LotW registration are fine and I agree with them, but surely a submitted contest log would be adequate proof that the log and QSOs are legitimate. After all, it's only a hobby.
