What's not to like about it is, WRTC will officially DISALLOW using any and
ALL of your scores with respect to WRTC's ranking/scorekeeping for that
event-- they will not count toward improving your WRTC ranking. You get
ZERO, ZIP, NADA, ZILCH.

The sponsor/organizer still recognizes and counts your scores, it's just
WRTC that will ignore them.

I've proposed to WRTC already that one ought to be able to ask in advance,
ONLY ONCE, WITHOUT ANY OPTION TO CHANGE, to have a particular operation be
the ONLY one allowed to count, so that one cannot "harvest" whatever result
worked out best after the fact. After-the-fact score selection was how this
rule came about originally I am told, as there were possible abuses in the
past.

My proposition will not be an option for 2014, but they have offered to
pass the idea on for the next WRTC.

So, as it stands now, one must make a choice between their personal
aspirations, or their desire to strengthen the level of contesting activity
as a whole. The way WRTC adjudicates their ranking at present, it's every
man for himself, and I wish it were otherwise. There are 2 occasions where
I have already set my aspirations aside. But I don't operate at that skill
level (yet) where it really matters, anyway.

Another by-product is my WRTC ranking is now skewed from this, and I'll
have to re-calculate what it could have been to actually see where I would
rank if it were otherwise. I'll look forward to doing some long division by
hand... ;)
