2-3 minutes is WAAAAY too long and anyone who returns after that long is 
stealing YOUR frequency. Good SO2R depends on good listening and timing so 
your time away is not much longer than listening normally for callers. If 
the other guy has a problem, you have to decide whether to lose the run 
frequency or the mult.

Same applies for single-radio jump from run to mult in band as we often have 
to do M/2. Prequalifying the mult in small steps between run qso's before 
you actually leave your frequency to call him minimizes the risk.
