[CQ-Contest] Non-assisted & Assisted

I was just asking a general question because there are contests where the
rules don't mention the subject. As an example, the BARTG Sprint this
weekend.

The contests I gave as examples state their rules clearly. I used them as
examples of good practice and also to illustrate the variation in rules
when using the same terminology.

BARTG has not replied to my inquiry about their contest.

Each contest has its own rules. Do you expect all contests to be the
same?
Why?

Which contest are you talking about when you say "a contest's rules say
nothing about Assisted operation"?

Both of the contests you then cite, explicitly address this issue, so it's
not clear to me what you're getting at.

1) ARRL RTTY Roundup: "Single Operator entrants may not use any form of
spotting assistance".
2) CQ WPX RTTY: "Use of QSO alerting assistance is permitted
in
all categories".

It seems these two that you mention are pretty definitive although quite
different.
