[CQ-Contest] Two points for intra-NA QSOs in CQWW?

I don’t agree with making logs public either Ron, not for any particular reason. 
In the end I send in my logs, and I don’t really care that much. 
Yes, I have looked at other people’s logs myself, so some will call me a hypocrite I suppose.

I asked this question a year or two or three ago and I don't think I ever got an answer.  

Why does a contest sponsor spend the time, or find a need, to “publish” the logs? 
What’s in it for the contest sponsor to make our logs public information?
