I'm glad we're again talking about 5NN signal reports. Single operator  
assistance was getting a bit tedious, and it's not quite the season to be  
discussing the proper CK for Sweepstakes.
 
Please note: there is nothing in an contest rules that say you have to send 
 59 or 5NN. There are just rules that say you have to send a signal report.
 
If you don't like 5NN, send a different signal report. I had fun in CQ160CW 
 honoring the San Francisco 49er's appearance in the Super Bowl by sending 
499  (actually 4NN). I doubt that more than 10% of the several hundred 
people I  worked noticed the difference, or cared.
 
Fortunately for the contest world, the 49ers lost, so there is no need to  
send 49 for the upcoming year.
