Remember that this is a HOBBY. Some people get way too serious about
winning. I no longer have to prove that I can win ... that is history; no
internet, all hand logging and crosschecking. By not submitting a log, I
can run the contest by my rules. There are just too many ways to 'cheat'
that can't be enforced. I don't care who wins. So just have fun.
As a side note. Did you listen to Martti from Z81X/Z81R. What a smooth
operator. I am always impressed with his pile up control and the ability to
pull my callsign out of the hordes.

Even when my on-the-air effort is minor I try to submit a log to
demonstrate support to the contest sponsors. Today submissions are free
and require just a couple of clicks.

What's the point of even submitting a contest log other than for
cross-checking and for the contest's ego? There are so many different ways
to cheat. Because of my location I rarely have a chance to even come close
to winning in my country. I can win when I travel to another country say in
the Caribbean. So I don't submit logs any more. I just enjoy the fun and
don't worry about the score.
