Subject: why few dx on contests?
To: w6sx at arrl.net

Why there are unusually low participations in American contests by DX
outside NA, JA, and EU ?

1. running--DX can get a pile up any day and does not need contest to fill
that need or fun.

2. S&P for a new entity-- DX can find needed new entity/country outside of
contests and more easy to work them due to lower competition for making QSO.

3. The contest rules are skew away from DX in Asia (other than JA) and AF
and OA due to unfair points distribution and mult counting.

The third reason is the final part to have DX just not enter contests. A
contest is a competition, and if the rules work against an op, just why
compete at all?
