Along with the Ohio W1AW/8 operation this week is the 2014 Ohio QSO Party.
The OhQP runs from 1600Z Saturday to 0400Z Sunday.
We will have the W1AW/8 stations active in the OhQP. They will be swapping
bands and modes between the various stations in various counties, so don't
be surprised to hear W1AW/8 in a different county than he was earlier. And
just as is the case for mobiles, you can work W1AW/8 again from the
different counties for OhQP credit. However, there is no further credit for the
ARRL Centennial Celebration for repeat QSOs with W1AW/8.
The OhQP has a serial number as part of its exchange. The W1AW/8 stations
in the OhQP will be passing out a serial number and their Ohio county. If
you don't have a serial number handy, just go ahead and give a RS/T. He'll
log it as QSO number 59 or 599. Since the W1AW stations are not a part of the
normal OhQP competition, there will be no problems for the W1AW stations
not having received a "real" serial number.
But we do hope you will be able to take part in the OhQP by working lots of
Ohio stations besides W1AW/8. The exchange is serial number and QTH
(State/VE Province/"DX"). You can work the same station on each band/mode, and
work mobile and rover stations (as well as W1AW/8) again as they change
counties.
Full OhQP rules, planned operations, awards, etc., are available at
_www.ohqp.org_ (http://www.ohqp.org)
The OhQP is on 80-10 SSB and CW. No WARC bands or digital. There will still
be plenty of regular W1AW/8 activity on the digital modes and WARC bands.
We all hope to see you this weekend!
