Art,
There is another wiring option for using the (wonderful) CM500 with an Icom
radio. Install an interrupting 1/8" mono jack on the rear of your SM6
microphone's base. When the CM500 is not plugged in, the SM6 works as usual.
WhHen you insert the Yamaha plug, the SM6 amp & its DC bias & the CM500
provide the audio. Works great.

But from the B and H Photo web site, it says:
*Note!* * Do not use phantom power. The maximum voltage is 15v which is
provided by the included bias adapter.*
So, do you need the Syba (or whatever) external box to get the DC, or does
the CM500 come with an adapter (and the Syba is just for those other
functions that Rich mentioned)?
