[CQ-Contest] Announcing: 2014 LQP (Locust QSO Party) - This Wednesday Night

ANNOUNCING: 2014 LQP (LOCUST QSO PARTY)

The closest thing to a 'Level Playing Field' is the LQP (Locust QSO Party),
and the 8th annual running will take place Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at 
6PM (PST) which equates to 1/16/13 @ 0200 UTC. This year, it's a FULL HOUR 
of CW Contesting Fun, and a good 'warm up' opportunity for the NA SPRINT
(CW) 
in February.

If you think the LQP is for Contest Sissies, then think again. Kudos to the 
'Big Gun' sharp Contest Ops who also participated in the past LQP events and

cranked down their power to demonstrate that 'skill' is still important in 
contesting events.

LQP Category Award NCJ Subscription (or Renewal) Winners from the first 7
LQP 
events were K1GU, KE1B, K4BAI, N3RC, N4AF, W4OC, W4NZ, W4UX, N5DO, WQ5L,
AD6E, 
K6XX, N6RO, N6ZFO, K7SS, K7TD, W7WHY, K9JWV, W9RE, W9RGB, K0TG, W0BH, WD0T, 
KL7NC, VE3NBJ, VA7ST, VE3DZ, XE1KK & XE2S (some won in multiple years).
 
Again this year, a total of TEN NCJ (National Contest Journal) Subscriptions

(or Renewals) will be given to LQP Category Winners.  The NCCC NS/NSL Sprint

type format offers all Little Pistol stations opportunities to rack up Q's 
and a winning score in the LQP. A lot of $$$ have been paid out in NCJ
Awards!
