I empathize with Andy, however, it seems worthy to point out that more than 2,000 people have been killed, more than 4,000 wounded and nearly a million people have been displaced in this conflict. A conflict that, arguably has brought Russia and the west closer to conflict than anything since the Cuban missile crisis.

And whether some people in Crimea get to play in a radio contest is a key issue? Perspective, please. 

The United Nations, supported by 100 countries, has refused to recognize Russia's clearly illegal occupation of Crimea and condemned Russia's continued hostility towards Ukraine. How could CQ come to any other decision?

And even if the vote in Crimea wasn't coerced at gunpoint, how is the vote there any different than Ukraine's decision to reject Putin puppet Yanukovych as president?
