This is not contesting university... this is grade one.....

1. Put lots of aluminum and wire in the air. The more elements on your yagi and the wider spacing the better. The good heights are 70, 120, or 140 feet. Running an IC-718 into six elements is way better than a IC-7851 into a C-3 or a 5BTV. Double your budget for the rotor.

2. Invest in your body: get a hi tech posture chair with lots of adjustments, keeps butts in that chair longer. Sip lemon flavored water for phone especially and eat cut up fruit, no coffee.

3. Continuously study propagation: knowing a rare zone is only accessible at 1430z long path, skewed path of 20degrees East of normal heading, makes a contact and fast. Pumping empty KW into short path doesn't always get it.

4. Practice: enter all the contests.

Everything else is cake icing. GL, 73, Charly
