That's because there are very few competitions that have multiple
categories simultaneously competing on the same playing field, and those
that do mostly have mutually exclusive criteria.
Besides, where did you see CR3L declare M/2 before or during the event?
Their operation was indistinguishable throughout the event in terms of
which category they qualified for. You wouldn't even have known what
their operation looked like at all if they hadn't posted to 3830, which
is a venue totally separate from their official entry.
