What a shame.  Frank was one of my very very first DX contacts on 6m back
around 1990.  IIRC he was keying some kind of FM ex-military or commercial
rig for transmit and using a SW all mode receiver for listening to CW.

The signal was most chirpy but very retro and cool.  Worked him many times
over that solar cycle with me running 1 watt and a dipole !

 

Frank you will be missed !
