If the TO7A DQ was due to "unverifiable QSOs" or "log padding" or whatever
term best describes the basis for the DQ, it would have been helpful to
those looking at the TO7A log to know that was the reason(s) as opposed to,
or perhaps in addition to, "unclaimed assistance."
Clearly the CQWW Committee spent a lot of time and energy coming to their
conclusion. One of the goals of a DQ is to discourage such behavior by all
participants in the future. I believe the more detailed the description of
the behavior, the more the deterrence factor. While there is merit to the
argument that it is not a good idea to publish the tricks of the log
checking trade, there is no way to doctor independent SDR recordings of all
contest bands. The QSO is either there or it isn't. If it is there, and it
was generated by a bad actor trying to get a station DQ'd, well, that is an
entirely different issue.
