The words assisted & unassisted -- the dictionary definitions that is -- and
the contest classifications that they are used as the labels of are not
necessarily the same.  

The meanings of the categories/classifications, when used, may differ from
contest to contest.

So more often than not, the discussions end up without resolution because
the various participants aren't actually discussing the same thing.

I really wish a different word than "assisted" had been chosen when the
category was being named.  Some of this heartburn might have been avoided.
