Compare W8TAH's 125ft dipole to a resonant dipole on 20m. Broadside his
antenna will be 27dB WEAKER and on the ends his antenna will be about 2dB
stronger than the 1/2wl dipole. The null area has at least a 40 degree
bandwidth on each side where it is significantly weaker. Unless W8TAH can
rotate the antenna or orient it so that the nulls face unpopulated areas
(unlikely in Ohio), a dipole or fan dipole would be a much better choice.

A 130 ft center fed zepp is a pretty good multi-band antenna if you are
limited
on what you can put up but you should be aware of the antenna patterns this
antenna produces on the different bands. Mine is oriented broadside NE/SW.
Here
is what you can expect on the different bands :


20 Meters - 4 leaf clover pattern. If someone isn't in one of the nulls it
works good. For the same reason I described on 40 meters I have a 20 meter
dipole oriented NW/SW as a 2nd antenna.
