[CQ-Contest] Has anyone "communicated" with a radio's CAT port using PuTTY?

I bought these null modem cables .. they were in the locker where the sign
said they are direct pin to pin.

Had to cut the cable and re-wire so they are now pin2pin.

No RF problems.

I use both FT1000MP and TS590 with amp at my stations.
