Along those lines, I think one's perspective on many of these controversial
issues depends a lot on what percentage of operating is (or has in the past
been) exclusively S&P (not running or SO2R).  Two things that I think would
enhance the fun of contesting would be:

- Logging software prominently displaying rate stats for S&P QSOs.

- Contest results pages showing a top ten list of best hour S&P rates.  I
think all of the relevant info can be derived from the cab file, at least
for single operator logs.

I'd cite as an example the unique pleasure of striving to maximize last 10,
last hour and last 100 rate during a contest.  Each number gives calls upon
a slightly different skill, and operating in the high range of one's
ability is demanding and fun.
