[CQ-Contest] Coax Stubs...

I would use a regular TV-type male crimp connector for one end of
the stub, and then type F female to UHF male adapter:

If you need a shorted stub, you can use a wire nut at the other
end:

RG-6 has wide variation in velocity factor, so you need to use a
dip oscillator, or some other instrument to measure the resonant
frequency of the stub. If your RG-6 has foam insulation, your
stubs will need to be roughly 23% longer than the K2TR lengths
shown here:
http://www.k1ttt.net/technote/k2trstub.html
You really need to measure the resonant frequency though, rather
than just cutting to length.

Subject: [CQ-Contest] Coax Stubs...

Hi contesters,

I have few meters of RG-6 coax cable...about 100 m.

We need Coax Stubs for our contest station...we are planning work
in next ARRL CW in Feb.

Our Max Power is 500 watts.

I have all information about K2TR coax stubs designs.

I am worry about my RG-6 cable...the braid is Aluminum (Al)
instead of Cooper (Cu), so, i can´t solder the braid. I think the
solution is an adapter to make a good contact with the shield
side of the PL-259...

Any tips or ideas?

Thanks,

73....Douglas, CO8DM
