ICOM is Platin Sponsor of WRTC 2018
Published: 20 July 2016
The organizers of the WRTC2018 are happy to announce that ICOM inc. will support the WRTC2018 as Platinum Sponsor. This Japanese company has been leading in the development of novel techniques for short wave and vhf/uhf equipment for several decades. The company‘s close links to contesting can be seen in the initiative of the ICOM Contest Team and the support of the Contest University. As the main sponsor ICON America had a great share in the success of the Olympic Games for radia amateurs in the WRTC2016 in New England.
Ray Novak, N9JA, Senior Sales Manager of Icom America stated: "Icom fully understands the importance of the World Radiosport Team Championship as a founding sponsor with the 1990 event in Seattle. We are proud to have been a Platinum Sponsor in the WRTC 2014 and now the WRTC 2018 as this segment of the hobby is more of a lifestyle with incredible fellowship as well as fierce competitiveness."
Michael Höding, DL6MHW, Vice President of the WRTC 2018 Organizing Committe underlined: "It is a great pleasure for us that ICOM will become Platinum Sponsor for the WRTC2018. Already at the WRTC2014 we were overwhelmed by the easy-going positive readiness that was mirrored in our negotiations during the Hamvention 2015. The extraordinary commitment of ICOM means an enormous step forward towards the WRTC2018." On top of the direct support of WRTC2014 and WRTC2018 ICOM will provide top teams with equipment. The winners of WRTC2014, for example, used ICOM transceivers thus contributing to the further development of top technology.
WRTC 2018 e.V. would like to express its gratefulness for this most generous support.
