Don't forget HAM RADIO Friedrichshafen and the Tokyo Ham Fair. True amateur
radio conventions/expositions with an international audience. Look at how
many new radios in recent years have first seen the light of day at the
Tokyo Ham Fair rather than the Dayton Hamvention.

The Internet has made the world a bit smaller. "Back in the day" you had to
personally attend Dayton to see the new gear. Nowadays, if new gear shows up
at Dayton or Orlando or Tokyo, someone will mention it in a forum post and
someone else will post a YouTube video of it usually within a day of first
exposure.
