Congrats John...
I've got a question... Based upon the scores you shared.... Is running
"Assisted" really helping the operators improve their scores? The single op
non-assisted are having higher scores. Why? I've seen this same thing in
other contests too... Seems to me that Assisted ops would typically have
higher scores than non-assisted ops....
I'm game for one operator type category....I compete against assisted ops
in many contests and still win...I just won another VAQP plaque.
As many of y'all know, I don't have a computer in the ham shack and
thoroughly enjoy contesting..Sometimes, I'll use a computer to log phone
contests, but typically run P&P logging. I send with a paddle and keyer and
use a mic (no voice memory keyer yet)..When you send with a keyboard and F
Keys..IMO it's not cw..it's another digital mode... I hope we never get to
a point where folks can't send with their hand..... I do enjoy technology
(all work week), so running "techless" gives me a break from a computer
screen. I never have to reboot either... I have to admit I do work "single
band" in most very large contests to eliminate the dupes problem... I did
my first "all band" WPX in March and dupes were challenging with 400 Qs in
my first all band WPX effort. That new Extra ticket would have come in
handy during that one...
Gotta love QSO Parties..
