Contesters,

Anyone who has ever operated CQWW from the Coral Cliff area of
Curacao is invited to join the PJ2T team this November for CQWW CW.

Operations began from that area of Curacao in November 1967 with CQWW
CW. That team won the world M/M trophy. In the intervening half
century there has been arguably more CQWW activity from there than
anywhere on Earth.

Al Rousseau, W1FJ is the only surviving member of that famous 1967
team, and Al will be with us in Curacao this November as the honored
VIP guest for "The Curacao Half-Century CQWW Celebration." We will
also be honored to have Bob, W5OV, a Co-Director of CQWW on the team,
with W4PA, another Co-Director likely visiting the site before the
contest. Curacao Bureau Telecommunicatie officials and local Curacao
media will also be on hand. Our purpose is to honor and remember the
SK members of that team (W1BIH, W1TX, W3GRF, W4GF, and W4KFC) and to
celebrate the CQ Worldwide Contest. PJ2T will QSL the contest 100%
with commemorative cards sponsored by PVRC.

(See the Microsoft Word press release about this event at

http://www.pj2t.org/ccc/curacao.half.century.cqww.celebration.press.release.3.doc
.)

If you're an alum of any Coral Cliff operations (Chester Brandon
houses, the Coral Cliff or Sunset Waters hotels, Radioteam Finland,
and PJ2T among others), you're invited. We already have a core team
of operators, including N5OT, K2PLF, KB7Q, W0CG, W5OV, N4RV, N7IR,
and possibly more PJ2T members, but we would like to augment the team
with alumni. We realize that this may result in a large team. This
may mean that visiting alumni may do a lot of observing and visiting
and not much multi/multi contest operating, but this is an
opportunity for you to see what things look like at the modern-day
Coral Cliff, to meet a CQWW Director and other prominent contesters,
and to get your callsign on the operator list for this historic
half-century anniversary.

As with any trip your costs would include airfare, your hotel
lodging, a rental car, and some meals. We'd also ask for a
contribution of $75/operator, the same PJ2T station support
contribution that is made by each of our members for every contest.
You would guests of the PJ2T/CCC club group so there would be no
other station costs. Curacao has lots of hotel rooms, good rental car
availability, and you could book all of this yourself on-line.

PLEASE ONLY IF YOU HAVE SERIOUS INTEREST IN THIS CONTACT ME AT
GHOWARD at KENT.EDU AND I CAN HELP WITH YOUR QUESTIONS.

      Thanks, 73,

            - Geoff, W0CG/7, PJ2DX, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
