I have two Eagles at home and contest with them extensively. Both have
worked flawlessly.

I also get to guest operate at many famous shacks using K3's. The Eagle is
entirely comparable to the K3 in terms of ability in demanding contest
environments.

I prefer the user interface of the Eagle.

As to options for the Eagle, there is a slight advantage to having the
600Hz filter in place during close-in QRM rather than depending entirely on
the DSP. But the DSP is really very good and if you do CW with just the
stock 2400Hz filter you will hardly ever have any issue with adjacent
signals.

I have made nearly 200,000 QSO's on my Eagles.

I have also made use of a FT-891 and was not nearly as impressed by it -
was easily overloaded by nearby signals on other bands leading me to
conclude there is little or no filtering in the front end. The FT-991, I
have not used.
