Mike,
How many QRP stations during CQ WW you worked yourself? Probably none - it's
much easier to crank power down, pick up strong signal on the band to copy
comfortably and make them try to decipher your puny whisper. And if they
couldn't do that, blame guy on the other end for poor operating skills.
Guess what - it wasn't you making those 10 QSOs to happen - but the other
guys who were able to dig out your signals out of the noise.

i did my usual 160m CQWW - SOSB 160 QRP unassisted. worked 10 stations over
the two nights for 168 points, for me a good effort.
what i did find is that some local "large contest" stations (less that
400 miles) could not hear me, quite possibly because they were using
sophisticated receiving antennas.
calling a local station a 100 times or so and not getting a response leads
me to this conclusion.
160 ain't what it used to be but then neither am i
