[CQ-Contest] FTDX 3000 as a contest radio?

I think the actual contesters do not really care what is posted on this
reflector. Postings seem to follow popularity, which often is biased by
numbers such as dynamic range, that have little to do with contesting.
These numbers are not important to contesting, just bragging rights.

Subject: [CQ-Contest] FTDX 3000 as a contest radio?

I did some searching through the previous posts and found very little
mention of the Yaesu FTDX3000 on the reflector. I also see little mention
of it other places as a contest radio. Now I do see the Kenwood TS590 being
mentioned as the best radio for the price, a great contesting radio, etc.

What is it with the FTDX3000 that keeps it from being a contest radio? It
has the same downconversion receive design that the TS590 has, and roofing
filters that are similar in width to the 590. In addition, it uses the
downconversion design and narrow roofing filters on 10 meters and 6 meters,
something the Kenwood doesn't go. It also has a realtime band scope, which
is something else lacking in the 590.
