I think that beyond a certain number it really doesn’t matter all that much.

I believe it was W8JI who was saying past 80dB or so most humans really
don’t notice the difference.

But I can tell you going from an Icom 756ProIII to the flex-6700 was like
going from driving a Ford Taurus to a Tesla. I’m sure going to a K3S or
something in the top end of the Sherwood list would have similar results.
The main thing is that when the DX blow torches turn it up to 11 next to
me, I can still work stations somewhat comfortably. The ProIII’s AGC would
just be all over the place.

However antenna and ears trumps everything.
