sorry to hear that.  I operated from Kure in 2005 (KH7C) and we made lots of QSOs. Bob Schmieder, KK6EK, of Heard Island fame was our expedition leader.

I remember KH3 seemed to be the easiest one to work of those.  I have quite
a few /KH3 QSLs from the 80s and 90s.  One of my more prize QSLs is from
KH7AA, the first KH7 call issued for Kure.  That was in 1982 or 1983, and I
have yet to work Kure since then.
