I actually purchased a fairly inexpensive recorder to keep it off of my PC
since I am running an XP machine for the contest dedicated computer.  I have
a SIM Card adder and use the external power supply charger.  It can record a
48 hour contest (space and time) easily.

Any suggestions as to what to purchase for an independent Digital recorder
that records for a full 48 hour contest and that is not dependent on
batteries for power. Lots of handheld recorders on the market, but if they
need battery power, this is a possible source for failure to record  the
entire 48 hour contest.
