I use the CM-500.  My noise inside is not a problem, the furnace is not
that loud.  I do like to operate with the window open in the summer and
that's a problem between the birds at the feeder right out the window and
the traffic on the road 100 yds away.  If you need to block external sound,
might not be the one for you.  Other than that, it's a great headset.

I've got a TS-850 and a TS-590.  I use a friend to help set up my audio.  I
get the most unsolicited comments of "you're loud" or "you sound great!" on
the 850 by a large margin.
