[CQ-Contest] Origin of 3830 Score Reporting

Hello Ed:

W3LPL and K3LR have been gathering at the end of four major DX contests
every year since the early 90s.

To answer your question - we do not know our team's scores until that magic
moment on the "real" 3830 at 0005 Zulu (Monday) after the contest. No
texting, no live scores, just run the race and see how things end up.

It is an amazing few minutes at the end of the 48 hour contest that is live
between these teams and any others that would like to join.

Call us old school - but it is what we have done for at least 28 years and
will continue to do so... CQWW Phone 2019 coming soon...

Look for a 3830 live discussion about scores right after the WPX Phone
contest in a week or so - with the K3LR all Youth operator team "Team
Exuberance".

I am curious. Since "everyone" is reporting to online scoreboards these
days, what's the point of K3LR and W3LPL getting on 3830 and reporting their
scores. Don't they already know the final scores?
